Jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids
I design custom jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids for your parts and assembly process. I also create 3D printed and foam 5S organizers for manufacturing tooling sets.
Boise area manufacturing engineering
Work directly with Jacob Falk on mechanical design, prototypes, fixtures, and fabrication. Based in Boise, serving the Treasure Valley and projects beyond.
Services
I design custom jigs, fixtures, and assembly aids for your parts and assembly process. I also create 3D printed and foam 5S organizers for manufacturing tooling sets.
I produce FDM 3D prints in-house and coordinate CNC machining, MJF 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication with manufacturing partners. Get prototypes or small batches using the process your project needs.
I apply design for manufacturing (DFM) to your CAD models and drawings, selecting materials, tolerances, and features to suit CNC machining, 3D printing, sheet metal, and other processes.
Measure existing parts, recreate missing geometry, improve fit or manufacturability, and turn rough product ideas into buildable models and drawings.
Process
Send the part, process, sketch, photo, broken fixture, or rough idea. I will help turn it into a scoped project.
CAD, design review, tolerance decisions, material choices, and fabrication planning based on what the part needs to do.
Produce the first prototype using the selected manufacturing process, either in-house or with a manufacturing partner.
Test fit and function, make any needed design changes, and verify the revised part. Finalize the drawings and documentation for use or production.
Capabilities
Part and assembly design, drawings, prototypes, fixture concepts, tolerances, and design for manufacturing.
Recreate discontinued, broken, or unavailable parts, capture key dimensions from physical samples, and develop new product concepts into manufacturable geometry.
FDM material selection, print setup, small batches, replacement parts, brackets, adapters, and iterative prototypes. Explore contract 3D printing.
Small manual mill and lathe work, TIG welding, and basic fabrication within available capacity. Larger or specialized machining and sheet metal work can be coordinated with outside vendors.
Process improvement, line-side tooling, troubleshooting, basic electrical and mechatronic work, operator aids, and additional engineering capacity.
Custom benches, tool layouts, shadow-board style foam inserts, line-side storage, operator-ready kits, and visual systems that make repeat work easier.
Project inquiry
Include the part's use, rough size, quantity, timeline, material needs, and any photos, sketches, or CAD files you have.
Engineering projects start at $250. Describe what you need to design, build, or improve, along with your quantity and timeline.
