Does it turn off with the ignition?

The plug-and-play kit uses the vehicle's existing power feed. Check power behavior on your car with the ignition on and after key-off; do not assume that plug-and-play means ignition-switched. Want ignition-only operation? Contact us before changing the wiring.

Will it drain my battery?

The module is designed for low idle current. Battery condition, other accessories and time parked also matter. Low draw is not zero draw; contact us about your setup if the car spends long periods parked.

Which fuse should I use for switched power?

There isn't one ignition-switched fuse recommendation that applies to every E46. Have a qualified installer use the fuse card and wiring information for your exact vehicle to verify a suitable switched circuit and its capacity. Never increase a factory fuse rating.

Does the original 12V socket still work?

Yes. The supplied plug-and-play harness keeps the original 12V socket functional. See the installation video and our E46 USB and voltmeter installation guide for the installation steps and checks.
