FAQs

• Will it charge with a thick case or MagSafe ring? Case thickness and material can affect charging. Check your actual phone and case together; if an iPhone charges slowly or not at all, try removing its thick or metal case. Keep metal plates and cards out of the charging area.
• Will it drain my battery? Standby current depends on the powered circuit and installed configuration. If your car has recurring discharge warnings, diagnose the cause before adding accessories. Read our E9X battery-drain diagnostic guide.
• Does the amber light still work? Yes—factory amber illumination is retained. If your car didn’t have it, add our LED kit (linked above).
• Will it overheat? Wireless charging can warm the phone. Case, placement and ambient temperature affect the experience; an iPhone may limit charging when it gets too warm. Follow your phone manufacturer’s temperature guidance, and try removing an incompatible case. Charging speed varies with device and conditions.
