- Will it charge with a thick case or MagSafe ring? Yes—triple-coil design improves alignment through thicker cases. Metal plates directly under the phone may reduce performance.
- Will it drain my battery? No. There are no always-on LEDs; the charger draws minimal power when idle. The draw is under 10 milliamps which is considered acceptable.
- Does the amber light still work? Yes—factory amber illumination is retained. If your car didn’t have it, add our LED kit (linked above).
- Will it overheat? Only in extreme high-temp weather conditions. The triple coil design charges more efficiency with less heat output. The circuit board also has over-temperature protection to shutoff if things get too hot.

It's a nice product, however it does not charge to 20w, only about 5-7w, despite my phone having fast wireless charging enabled. I don't use a phone case and it still generates enough heat that it forces my phone into slow wireless charging (5w), which is only enough to maintain battery %, not enough to charge. Also, the e9x platform has heater / AC in the back seat. If you are charging your phone you're unable to use rear seat heat - the ducting for the air is directly under the charging tray, and when pushing hot air it immediately overheats my phone. I live in a mild climate, never more than 25° C all summer. It still overheats in winter. You can keep rear seat AC on to help with heat management but it still never charges enough to do any more than maintaining. I have an s25 Ultra which is a flagship with no issues charging on other wireless chargers. There unfortunately isn't really any way to prevent this from happening without adding insulation or deadening on the hidden side of the charger but that would create fitment issues. The fitment is good, the concent is good, the suede is nice, but it just simply has too many heat issues so I end up charging with the wire and a 45w USB plug.
Love the fact that I now have fast wireless charging in my 2007 e90 sedan! High quality product and install looks EOM!

I'd been looking for a wireless charger for my M3 for awhile, but never pulled the trigger for various reasons. When I came across this Falk MFG set up, I knew it was the one to try. I wanted to keep the look of the interior as OEM as possible and this succeeds in that aspect. What I love about it is how understated it is. If you don't know it's a wireless charger, you would never guess it was. And that is exactly what I wanted.
The instructions are very straightforward and do a great job of walking you through the steps. With a little patience and less than an hour of your day this will be done and you'll be on your way. Wholeheartedly endorse this product.
